First Baptist Church will be offering a Bereavement Support Group to anyone in the FBC or Park Street congregations who are suffering a loss by death. There is no cost to attend the group and registration is not required.
The group meetings will be held Tuesday evenings from 6:00-7:30P.M beginning, Tuesday, April 14th and will run for 6-consecutive weeks with the last meeting to be held on May 19th. We will meet in the FBC library (across from Gordon Hall).
Some of the issues and concerns we will be discussing that are common to newly bereaved folks include: What to make of the anger, discouragement and guilt experienced in grief; How to deal with the unfair expectations of other people; Where to look for people you can trust to help you; How to manage the holidays and other special occasions when you are grieving; Who to consider for additional support if you need it; How to take care of yourself physically.
Rev. Sharron Lamothe will be the facilitator for this support group. She has worked for 25+ years in parish ministry retiring in 2012 and now works part time for the VNA Carenetwork in Worcester, Mass. as a hospice chaplain. She and her husband are members of FBC.
If you have any questions, please speak with Sharron or send email to firstname.lastname@example.org.
